Bruno Schatz (24 June 1894 – 3 December 1974) as a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Bruno Schatz was captured by Soviet troops in May 1945 in the Courland Pocket. He was held until October 1955.
